Adsorption deformation of microporous composites.

We study here the behavior of flexible adsorbent materials, or soft porous crystals, when used in practical applications as nanostructured composites such as core-shell particles or mixed matrix membranes. Based on simple models and the well-established laws of elasticity, we demonstrate how the presence of a binder results in an attenuation of the adsorption-induced stress and deformation. In ...

Hollow mesoporous zeolite microspheres: hierarchical macro-/meso-/microporous structure and exceptionally enhanced adsorption properties.

We report the synthesis of a new kind of uniform hollow zeolite microspheres with hierarchical macro-/meso-/microporosity by an efficient strategy combining bi-templating, steam-assisted crystallization and then a mild alkaline etching method. This novel product has a hollow architecture, highly crystallized zeolite shells and more importantly, high dye adsorption capabilities.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Hollow magnetic microspheres obtained by nanoparticle adsorption on surfactant stabilized microbubbles.

We report on the stabilization of nanoparticle-decorated microbubbles for long periods of time using a synergism between a soluble surfactant and nanoparticles. The soluble surfactant is the perfluoroalkyl phosphate C8F17(CH2)2OP(O)(OH)2 (labeled F8H2Phos) and the nanoparticles (NPs) are 20-25 nm cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4). The NP-F8H2Phos system has been studied by dynamic light scattering, dyna...
